Fixed Appliance Testing (FAT)

Fixed appliance testing should always be a part of a testing procedure however, it is often overlooked.

Most fixed appliances such as cookers, night storage heaters and hand driers therefore are rarely tested.

All fixed appliances are connected to the electricity supply via a fused spur.

The fixed wiring in the property will be tested, including the fused spurs, but not the appliances they feed, during the EICR inspection and the appliances with 13a plugs tested during a portable appliance test.

However, unless there is a procedure in place to test the fixed appliances, they will be overlooked.

We are fully qualified to carry out the testing either during the EICR, or more likely the PAT inspection to ensure all the testing has been carried out.
